WayRay, a Swiss leader of holographic augmented reality displays for cars, is headed to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, on January 8–11, 2019. As a result of its long-term cooperation with Hyundai Motor Group, WayRay is ready to showcase its holographic AR display built into the Genesis G80 luxury sedan. The company also presents its 180° Holographic AR Experience, created inside the AR glass cockpit, and puts its True AR SDK on display for the first time.

As CES 2019 is expected to set a new attendance record, WayRay celebrates its third annual appearance at the show with its holographic AR display built into the Genesis G80 sedan. The demonstration car from South Korean luxury brand Genesis features WayRay’s embedded AR HUD (Head-up Display). The showpiece demonstrates the holographic AR interface with navigation elements and POI icons displayed through the windshield in the context of the environment ahead of the driver and showcases the feasibility of installing WayRay’s compact system into existing production vehicles.

To bring AR beyond automotive and give a taste of what the future of autonomous mobility holds, WayRay has designed its 180° Holographic AR Experience concept for land, air, and water transportation. Playing out various use cases, WayRay visualizes how augmented reality can transform the mobility experience in driverless cars, air cabs, and marine vessels. CES visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in True Augmented Reality through three distinct travel-scenario interfaces that highlight safety, navigation, and infotainment content.

To bridge the virtual and physical worlds with diverse AR content, WayRay brings its recently launched True AR Software Development Kit to the public at CES. The True AR SDK allows third-party developers to integrate virtual objects into the real world and create AR applications that run on WayRay’s holographic AR displays. The company is setting up a series of SDK sessions and live demos for the attendees to explain the basics of AR app development for cars. The platform is already available for free download at www.wayray.com.

CES 2019 runs from Tuesday, January 8 through Friday, January 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
